Volunteer with us

Volunteer with us!

Volunteers are the heart of Kinship Carers UK, and central to delivering our services and support to all kinship carers throughout the UK.  Kinship Carers UK was established by kinship carers volunteers and is still effectively run by kinship volunteers who are the heart and soul of our charity.

We promote opportunities for specific volunteer roles that are inclusive, flexible, challenging, and ambitious, as well as enjoyable.

Volunteer for Kinship Carers UK

Steering Group team

Our dedicated volunteers are the backbone of our organisation, providing invaluable support to kinship carers. They are involved in a wide range of activities, including regularly reaching out to other kinship carers, leading both virtual and face-to-face support groups, and actively participating in our steering group to help shape the services we offer. We have an array of roles to suit everyone, from dynamic family and youth work to various administrative tasks, social media, and creating awareness about our cause. No matter where you're located in the UK, we have virtual roles with flexible hours that are perfect for you.

Why kinship care families need specialised and consistent support

Stable kinship care families mean less children going into state care.  However, given the multiple challenges they face, they can’t do it without YOUR consistent support.

Why volunteer?

As a volunteer, the time you give really does matter. Without the support of volunteers, we couldn’t do what we do. If you’d like to help and make a difference to kinship carers and their families, we’d love to hear from you.

Kinship volunteers are a diverse group of people, and we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and abilities, who are over the age of 18. We welcome and actively encourage volunteers who are or have experience as a kinship carer.
